Concrete?

Concrete, as an artificial stone, is the most important and most common building material that enables our structures to stand.

What is concrete composed of?
There are 4 main ingredients that must come together to form concrete:

  • Cement
  • Aggregate (sand, gravel, crushed stone)
  • Water
  • Admixture (Chemical and Mineral)

As a result of chemical processes between the cement and water, separate aggregate granules adhere to each other to form concrete. Chemical Admixtures, which is one of the 4 main components, are also widely used. Although in lesser amounts, other materials called ‘Mineral Admixtures’ can also be added.

What are some concrete types?
In line with the needs of construction and concrete industry, it is possible to produce different types of concrete in parallel with developments in chemistry and materials science.

  • Self-Compacting Lightweight Concrete
  • Self-Compacting Fiber Concrete
  • Self-Compacting Concrete
  • High Performance Concrete
  • Cylinder Compressed Concrete
  • Reactive Powder Concrete
  • Shotcrete Concrete
  • Pre-stressed Concrete
  • Underwater Concrete
  • Colored Concrete
  • Lightweight Concrete
  • Fiber Concrete
